C.J. Berry grew up in Maine and now lives in Colorado with his wife Juliet (also a Mainer) and their children, Maddie and Livy. Older children Ron, Leah and Chelsea have left the, ummm, nest and are now dutifully tending their own lives.


Chris works for a climate services company as a business development manager and also served as mayor of the city of Lafayette, Colorado, for two terms until being sent packing by term limits in 2007.

Laura G. Young, lauragyoung.com, is a painter and illustrator who enjoys exploring traditional techniques that hearken back to the Golden Age of children's literature. She lives with her husband and a menagerie of fish, plants and birds in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado.
